Here at Dishington Construction Company we realize the magnitude of an addition or major renovation. Our number one priority during the entire process is to make your overall experience as smooth as possible.

Pre construction meeting
Here we will discuss our initial plan of attack and more importantly discuss all the necessary precautions that will be taken to protect your valuables, your property and to insure you and your family’s safety during the work. We will also have our first working schedule that will include the entire job
schedule

Permits
We will apply and secure all related applications and permits required to start your project. This includes but is not limited to: coordinating with the architect of record, meeting with your towns local building inspector and complying with the Board of Health.
We will also supply proof to you and the town of our up to date building licenses and registrations as well as proof of our comprehensive liability, bond and workmans comp. insurance.

Day 1- Moving Day
This is where we take over your house. We will begin by moving the necessary equipment and materials in place to start the job. This might include an excavator and staging. An onsite dumpster will typically be placed somewhere convenient on the job site and a portable toilet will be delivered for all the workers.
Inside your home we will begin the process of sealing off the “work zone”. This will keep our space separate from your space as much as possible. We will install dust control measures and protect any floors that need it. (Although we will take every precaution to control dust and keep it from your living space, it is simply impossible to eliminate all of it. It will be your #1 relief when we are finally gone)

Construction begins
We will start by turning off the water and cutting power to all areas we will be working. These jobs will all be handled by our fully licensed plumbing and electrical sub-contractors. Here in the state of Massachusetts the law is very clear on “who” can touch “what” and we will simply not cut corners here.

The end of the day
When it’s time to shut it down at the end of the work day, usually sometime between 3:00-5:00 P.M. we will thoroughly clean and organize the worksite to make it look and function as it did when the day started. We understand that this is a step that is often overlooked by most contractors yet, it is one of the most important steps in insuring that your overall experience is a positive one.

Changes
Every job of any signifigance is going to have changes in the original scope and size of the project and we understand this. These changes are due to many factors. The most common one being the customer has changed their mind regarding a certain design or material that was previously decided on. We will work with you in balancing all the pros and cons of any change that might need to be made.

Payments
Most people either know somebody or have heard of somebody who has scammed or cheated by a contractor. Although there is no way to eliminate 100% of the risk involved in hiring a GC, here at Dishington Construction Co. we have a time tested, structured payment policy that protects both parties. We will not ask for 1/3rd payment up front like some contractors do, overexposing yourself to unnecessary risk. After a reasonable down payment to secure our services and pay for the first wave of materials, all future payments will only be made after certain levels of completion are achieved that are clearly specified in our contract.

Punch List
The job is drawing to a close and the final push is here. We will make an exerted effort to coordinate with you and get all the little things completed so we can move on. A touch of paint here, a missing knob there, whatever it takes to make you satisfied.

Warranty
Dishington Construction Co. offers a 1year warranty against all defects in work. The terms of our warranty will be detailed in our contract with you. During that time if any issue may arise you can be assured that we will be there to get it fixed.
